Candy Day Jamboree Attended

Freeport Lions had a good time at the 2015 Candy Day Jamboree held on August 29th in Leaf River. The event is held each year to kick off the fundraiser for all district clubs. 60% of all donations received by the Freeport club go to the Lions of Illinois Foundation to support their many programs such as Camp Lions for children and adults, Low Vision Clinic, Diabetic Eye Center, mobile diabetic eye clinic, mobile hearing services and vision screenings, infant hearing screenings, cochlear implant program, used hearing aid and eyeglass collections, social services and referral, and Lions of Illinois Funds for Emergency (L.I.F.E.)

Spirits are high as we get ready for our club’s fundraiser next month on October 9th and 10th. We will be accepting donations in front of Cub Foods, ShopKo and Sullivan Foods in Freeport IL in exchange for a roll of candy.
